walking… manshuin

Mari was able to pull me away from the computer long enough for a walk up the hill to Manshuin Temple. It was midweek, so we avoided the flood of taxis and momiji paparazzi that rushes in on weekends.
Walk in the fresh air and afternoon light, stop at a vending machine for hot canned sweetened coffee, pass gardens full of daikon, spinach and leeks, say hello to a cat crouching next to a rice field…
How refreshing to forget for a moment about web browsers, XHTML and cascading style sheets.

Sorry I’ve been away for so long, and thanks for your concern. Some of you were even wondering if Mari and I were OK. We’re both doing fine. I’ve just been busy with work and (finally) Japanese classes.
The blog thing….Once you’ve stopped, it can be hard to find the motivation to get going again. You know, like yoga DVDs and daily stomach crunches.
