We took Thursday off for a “date” at Hirakata Park in Osaka. Mari was in a screaming mood. She said she was too embarassed to scream on roller coasters when she was younger, so yesterday was her “first time to scream on a roller coaster” day. We road the Elf, the Crazy Mouse, the Red Falcon and more — and we screamed and hollered on all of them. The Crazy Mouse is a kiddy ride, but it was actually one of the scarier ones because you felt like the rickety track might break and send the car flying off.
We were lucky enough to catch the last year of the somewhat bizarre chrysanthemum doll show, which features lifesize historical dioramas of mannequins dressed in thousands of flowers. Apparently the chrysanthemum craftspeople are dying out, and young folks aren’t very interested in the displays.

Yet another Great Post! Sounds like a lot of fun!!
Visiting the park got me to thinking about going to Tokyo Disneyland when I get the chance. Have you been?
Yessir! First trip to Japan also took me to Tokyo Disneyland! (funny, I haven’t been to any other Disneyland or Disneyworld in the U.S.) It was fun–albeit obviously tame. I really enjoyed it! You can let go of any “I’m an adult and therefore cannot have fun like a child” feelings and just relax and even watch one of the many parades that they have throughout the day! They also have some interesting Mickey Shaped Hamburgers… 😉
Hmmm… Must not be busy anymore… eh?
